The Knack Award

Awarded to someone who empowers others or maintains something that benefits others, but whose ability and hard work may be unacknowledged.

David Tannenbaum, RECIPIENT OF THE 2004 KNACK AWARD

NOMINATOR'S STATEMENT
David Tannenbaum is currently a psychotherapist in Manhattan. For over a decade David has supported a clinic in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico that helps local children with severe neurological medical problems. The entire clinic exists because of David, who goes there every few months with donated sheets, blankets, clothing and other essential items as well as securing the funds needed to keep the place open. Much of the funding comes directly from David himself. Since he is self-employed visiting the clinic means taking time away from his own business, for which he is not compensated. David gets little acknowledgment for what he has done with the clinic, nor does he seek it. His selfless and generous work in this clinic makes David the perfect recipient for the Knack award.
